Description of the program: xcor


This program computes the cross correlations between two time series, given as two columns of ONE datafile.

Usage:

xcor [Options]

Everything not being a valid option will be interpreted as a potential datafile name. Given no datafile at all, means read stdin. Also - means stdin

Possible options are:

-l# number of data to use whole file
-x# number of lines to be ignored 0
-c# columns to be read (numbers have to be separated by commas) 1,2
-D# number of correlations 100
-o# output file name
without file name: 'datafile'.cor
(or stdin.cor if stdin was read)
If no -o option is given stdout is used
-V# verbosity level
  0: only panic messages
  1: add input/output messages

-h show these options none


Description of the Output

The first four lines contain the average and the standard deviation of the two data sets. The last lines are the crosscorrelations: <xt*yt+d> devided by the standard deviations of both data sets. d ranges from -D to D.
