Continous Time Random Walks (CTRW) are stochastic processes where a walker rests at a given position for some random time and then makes a jump of random size. For certain waiting time distributions, time averages do not converge to ensemble averages, which is called weak  ergodicity breaking. We discuss details of this phenomenon and also show that this is one mechanism for 1/f-noise.
