Collisionless energy absorption in heated nanoplasma

The effect of size-dependent collisionless energy transfer from a strong laser field into heated nanoplasma produced in clusters and thin films is studied in the frame of the selfconsistent field approach. The behavior of the energy absorption rate versus parameters of fields and targets as well as the role of local field fluctuations are analyzed for several model selfconsistent potentials. The interplay between the linear and nonlinear (including chaotic) regimes of collisionless energy absorption is discussed too.
