Angular correlations in sequential two-photon double ionisation

Stephan Fritzsche
GSI Darmstadt
Recent experiments with intense ultraviolet (XUV) radiation sources, such as high harmonics or free electrons lasers, opened the pathway for studying a variety of non-linear processes with atoms and molecules in the XUV regime. Among these, the two-photon double ionization (TPDI) has attracted a lot of interest since it enables one to explore in detail the transition from a `sequential' towards the `simultaneous' emission of two electrons. In this contribution, the sequential TPDI is discussed for neon and argon.
Theoretical results are shown in different computational models and compared with recent experiments. In addition, we shall analyze also
the angular correlation function, as measured by experiment, if the two photoelectrons are detected angle-resolved and in coincidence.
