We have proposed the method of scalable frames for simulation of the electron dynamics in the expanding ultracold plasmas. Its main advantages are (1) the possibility to trace the plasma dynamics over a considerable time interval, much grater than by straightforward simulations in the fixed coordinate frames, and (2) to separate accurately the relative kinetic energy of the electrons, associated with their temperature, from the kinetic energy of macroscopic motion. As follows from our simulations, a large part of the electron heating observed during the plasma expansion can be explained just by the accurate treatment of the elastic Coulomb's scattering, rather than attributing it to the heat release by inelastic processes, such as three-body recombination.
