Control of HHG for ultra-fast measurement applications

Jonathan Marangos
Imperial College London

I will discuss our recent work on optimisation of HHG spectroscopy using various strategies. These include: the use of the "perfect wave" synthesized from three or more colours to optimise the HHG cut-off generation efficiency, trajectory selection in orthogonally polarized two colour fields to select and optimise the long as well as short trajectory components, and use of a few-cycle compressed idler from a optical parameteric generator at ~1800nm to study the HHG generation from molecules with an ionization potential below 10 eV.
