Transition from 1D to 2D ICD process for two coupled wave guides

As we will show the ICD electron is ionized perpendicular to the semiconductor layers only when the two wave guides (WGs) are far apart As the distance between the two WGs is smaller the ICD electron ionized also inside one of the wells and not only along the perpendicular direction This result may provides an answer to the question: What are the measurable differences between ICD and Auger.
