Functional modularity of healthy and diseased brain networks

We analyze the modular (cluster) structure of brain networks extracted from brain signals (EEG and MEG) of healthy subjects and patients suffering from different brain diseases (epilepsy and cerebellar lesions). We find significative differences between the brain organization of healthy subjects and patients. Our results suggest that modularity plays a key role for the functional organization of brain areas in both normal and pathological brain dynamics.
