This talk is focalised on the effect of synchortron radiation polarisation on angle-resolved photoemission spectra. We analised nonmagnetic materials, like Ag and Cu, as well as magnetic materials like Ni and Fe in the 20-60eV photon energy range. In spite of the different orientation of the surfaces, (100) or (111), the effect are mainly the same regardless of reflections planes.
The results obtained with linear horizontal and vertical synchrotron radiation can be interpreted considering the symmetry of the initial state wavefunctions. On the contrary the spectra taken with circular light of different handedness look more complicated, even in non-magnetic samples.
