| Some results (from Direct Numerical Simulations) will be presented concerning both a method by which we were able to determine with great accuracy the mean life of vortex filaments and how the formation of such coherent structures crucially influences the long term dispersion of light particles advected by turbulent flows. Relations between particles dynamics and vorticity growth will be also addressed. |
