I will discuss the treatment of non-local Hamiltonians using the DMRG, concentrating on momentum-space Hamiltonians. Quantum-information-based quantities such as the entanglement entropy and the mutual information can be used to optimize the DMRG, to extract physical information about the system, and to formulate new approximations. I will discuss application to the Hubbard model in one and in two dimensions. |
