Simulations on a Double-Layered Torus

Bernd Berg

Florida State University, USA

Lattice spin and gauge systems have widely been simulated using periodic (and a few other) boundary conditions. In this talk the geometry of a double-layered torus is introduced, which has to the knowledge of the speaker previously not been used in simulations. Illustrations for the Ising model and applications to the deconfining phase transition are given.
