The glass and jamming transitions as a spin glass problem

Glass and jamming transitions are essentially problems of the geometry of the packing of hard spheres. It will be argued that these problems can be mapped onto a spin glass problem. As a consequence of this mapping we can predict the exponent used to describe the growing dynamical length scales seen in glass and jamming transitions, with results which are in good accord with experiments and simulations.
