International Workshop on
Interaction and Interference in Nanoscopic Transport

February 18 - 23, 2008

Scientific coordinators:

Yuval Gefen (The Weizmann Institute of Science, Rehovot, Israel)
Jürgen König (Ruhr-Universität Bochum, Bochum, Germany)
Klaus Ensslin (ETH Zürich, Zürich, Switzerland)

Organisation:

Claudia Poenisch (MPI für Physik komplexer Systeme, Dresden, Germany)

Transport through nanostructures is strongly affected by Coulomb interaction associated with the charge of the electrons. The interplay of Coulomb interactions, charge and spin correlations and reduced dimensions is crucial for the understanding of the electronic properties of mesoscopic systems. The quantum-mechanical nature of the electrons can be probed by interference setups in different geometries. The aim of the workshop is to bring together experimentalists and theorists who are experts in exploring the mutual interplay of interaction and interference phenomena in nanoscopic transport to discuss recent developments in the field.
