Magnetic traps have been at the hart of cold-atom physics since a long time. In this talk I would like to present some novel trapping geometries possible using time averaged potentials (TAPs)in a normal Ioffe-Prichard trap.
As a first application I will demonstrate how in such a trap collisions between two condensates can give rise o s- and d- waves, and how the interference between the two can be used to determine the absolute scattering crossections without knowledge of he flux. |
