An analogy of a McMillan-Rowell inversion procedure for conventional superconductors will be presented for d-wave superconductors with the purpose of revealing electron-boson couplings and their connection with superconductivity. A theory for ARPES and FT-IETS in materials with substantive electron-boson coupling will be discussed, and specific features resulting from elastic quasiparticle scattering interferences and inelastic scattering via electron-boson interactions will be addressed. It is shown that the omega,q dependence of the effective quasiparticle interaction can be probed and comparison to various modes will be made.
