We present a systematic study of the loss of synchronization in a neural mass model, when the local connectivity is reduced in specific regions of the brain. The model is able to reproduce the different rhythms observed in EEG experiments. The connectivity parameters in the model are modified according to the loss of local cortical thickness measured experimentally by MRI. Our aim is to connect quantitatively the EEG signal and the cortical thickness degradation observed in Alzheimer's patients. A preliminary comparison of the results obtained with the model and results measured in patients is shown. |
