Pattern Formation in reactive liquid-liquid systems

The talk gives first a short overview about the sorts of pattern formed in liquid-liquid systems when a chemical reaction takes place either in the bulk or at the interface. The second part shows some experimental results of systems with an in-situ production of surfactant which are studied in both Hele-Shaw cell and capillaries. The rather complex coupling between Marangoni convection, spatio-temporal periodic interfacial deformation and contact line motion is discussed.
