| In this talk I will discuss spectral singularities of complex scattering potentials and their applications in optics. In particular, I will show how the mathematical condition of the existence of a spectral singularity implies the well-known laser threshold condition. I will also comment on the possibility of producing a tunable laser based on spectral singularities. |
