EPs in microwave billiards: Eigenvalues and Eigenfunctions

Achim Richter

After a brief introduction into generic features of microwave resonators as quantum billiards and open scattering systems it is discussed how eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of a dissipative quantum system are measured near an exceptional point [1]. Besides T invariant systems billiards in which T is broken by an externally magnetized ferrite are considered and a method for the determination of the non-Hermitian Hamiltonian is presented [2].
