A number of recent developments in quantum dynamics emphasize the aspect of
the time evolution of distributions in phase space, quantum as well as
classical. They allow for alternative approaches to propagation and spectral
statistics, among others, circumventing the concept of periodic orbits and
complementing it at the same time. The conceptual closeness of Liouvillian to
quantum phase-space dynamics opens new routes in semiclassics, possibly to a
unified treatment of chaotic, mixed, and integrable systems. There are
promising applications, in particular to quantum optics, to molecular and to
mesoscopic physics.
With this workshop, we intend to create a comprehensive, coherent image of the
various lines of development, and to facilitate the contact between basic and
more applied research in the field. Topics of the workshop include Liouville
dynamics and its regularization for chaotic systems, quantization of KAM
systems, action correlations, coherent-state propagation in chaotic systems,
phase-space entropies, dissipative quantum dynamics in phase space.
