Scientific Coordinators:
Ian Affleck (University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada)
Masud Haque (MPIPKS Dresden, Germany)
Ulrich Schollwöck (LMU München, München, Germany)
Organisation:
Mandy Lochar (MPIPKS Dresden, Germany)
Topic:
The last few years have seen an explosion of activity at the interface of
quantum information theory and condensed matter physics.
This program aims to bring together condensed matter physicists
interested in the application of concepts borrowed from quantum
information theory, such as measures and classifications of
entanglement.
The meeting will provide the opportunity for a critical evaluation of
interdisciplinary results, with a view toward using quantum information
concepts to construct new tools and techniques for condensed matter theory.
Format:
One-week intense workshop (25-30 talks) followed by one-week seminar (about 15 talks).
The second week will thus include more time for research and informal
discussions.
Participation in the second week is limited by available office
space.
There will be one or two poster sessions the first (workshop) week, and possibly one poster session the second (seminar) week.
