The magnetic and transport properties of Pd-rich PdFe alloys are investigated as a function of the order on the Cu3Au-lattice. We will correlate the residual resistivity and the anisotropic magnetoresistence (AMR) with the partial order which is due to the different thermal annealing of the sample. This approach appears as an alternative to more conventional structural studies based on the X-ray and neutron scattering experiments. We will also investigate qualitatively the effect of temperature on the resistivity and the AMR using a simple model of thermal or spin-disorder. Finally, preliminary results for the anomalous Hall effect will be also shown.
The first-principle simulations are based on the relativistic generalization of the transport Kubo-Greenwood approach as formulated in the framework of the first principles TB-LMTO method in which the effect of disorder is described by the coherent potential approximation. Results are in a good agreement with available experimental data.
