Understanding the origins of the complex properties of correlated quantum materials
remains a topic at the forefront of condensed matter physics. Thanks to recent
experimental advances, researchers can now custom-design the nanoscale geometric
and electronic structure of quantum magnets, superconductors, ultracold atomic gases,
and other correlated systems. The resulting unprecedented control over their
equilibrium and nonequilibrium properties has also greatly stimulated novel theoretical
approaches to quantum matter.
The purpose of the seminar is to bring together leading experts and young scientists
in this field to discuss their latest work, thereby fostering new and
continued collaborations. The seminar will feature a number of informal talks each
week and leave much room for collaborative work. The emphasis of the embedded workshop
will be on exchanging ideas between theory and experiment.
