The pseudogap Anderson model provides a classic example of an essentially local quantum phase transition. Results of the Local Moment Approach are presented for single-particle dynamics in the vicinity of the quantum critical point that separates generalized Fermi liquid and local moment phases. Comparison is made to numerical recent renormalization group results. Both phases are shown to be characterized by a low-energy scale that vanishes at the quantum critical point and universal scaling spectra are obtained analytically. The spectrum on the quantum critical point is accessed directly and its form shows clearly the non-Fermi liquid nature of the fixed point.
