Resonances and the Diabolic Crossing Scenario

The celebrated diabolic crossing scenario of Hermitian quantum systems
must be generalized in the non-Hermitian case.
The generic crossings of resonances, crossing types,
exceptional points and geometric (Berry) phases are discussed and
illustrated by applications to atomic, solid state and optical systems.
