Fano resonances in nonlinear optical waveguide arrays

We study Fano resonances in one and two dimensional waveguide arrays. When a plane wave is launched against a localized mode (discrete soliton) a resonance peak in the transmission spectra can be observed. For 1D arrays we solve exactly the problem and, for 2D ones, an analytical approximation for the total transmitted power is derived. We also discuss different setups and its implementation in real optical systems.
