Self-stabilized evolution of dissipative spatial solitons

Spatial dissipative solitons are studied. The nonlinear evolution of an initially asymmetric beam is examined. A general criterion selecting stable steady state solutions of complex cubic-quintic Ginzburg-Landau equation (CQGLE) is established using variational method. Numerical simulations of CQGLE show a self-stabilized evolution of dissipative spatial solitons.
