Dissipative Bragg solitons in an externally pumped passive cavity with refractive index modulation

We consider a nonlinear optical cavity containing a two level passive medium and photonic crystal film inside it. The cavity is driven by two plane waves which form a periodically modulated pump. Using the coupled mode approach and direct numerical modeling of the original equations we demonstrate existence of bistability, modulational instability, resting and moving transverse dissipative solitons in this system. The properties of such solitons are discussed.
