I will discuss singular hydrodynamic behavior in fluids near the critical point. Among such examples, many experiments have been performed on the critical speeding-up in fluids near the gas-liquid transition, known as the piston effect, on which I worked with R.A. Ferrell in 1989-1990. If time will be allowed, I will also show some examples of nonlinear heat effects near the superfluid transition.
