Time-resolved spectroscopy beyond optical wavelengths

We are building a source for generation of High Harmonics. A laser with 30 fs pulses at 20 kHz repetition rate is focussed onto argon gas used as a medium to generate High Harmonics, and a grating monochromator is used to select particular wavelengths. This radiation is then used to perform time-resolved studies of metal- and semiconductor surfaces. This beamline is a joint project between MBY and BESSY and will also be open as a user facitity to external users.
