In this poster, I will focus on our recent theoretical and experimental work [J. Chaloupka, G. Khaliullin, Phys. Rev. Lett. 100, 016404 (2008); J. Chakhalian et al., Science 318, 1114 (2007)] which shows a major reconstruction of spin, orbital, charge states at the interface between correlated oxides. The role of the orbital degree of freedom will be emphasized as a key factor in driving novel electronic states in oxide heterostructures.
