The workshop will deal with recent advances in the description of structure formation in complex systems, both in physical and chemical as well as in biological ones. The influence of external stochastic effects on these systems will be discussed.

Participation is mainly by invitation and only a limited number of external applications can be considered. The workshop will be held at the Institute for Theoretical Physics of the University of Leipzig. The participants are expected to arrive on Sunday, October 6 in the evening. The financial, technical and administrative support of the workshop will be provided by the Max Planck Institute for Physics of Complex Systems in Dresden.

Contributed talks are encouraged. The deadline for application is September 1, 1996. The conference fee for external applicants is DM 100.- (including a common dinner on Monday).
