Controlling the morphology of multiple droplets

I will present a microfluidic method for controlled generation of compound droplets composed of either multiple immiscible segments or segments stabilized by self-assembled surfactant bilayers. I will discuss the stability diagrams of such structures drawing from conditions of mechanical equilibrium of liquid interfaces and from packing contraints. Finally I will propose possible applications of multiple droplets in synthesis of microparticles of non-spherical shapes and liposomes with predesigned internal architecture.
