International Workshop on
Chaos and Collectivity in Many-Body Systems

Complex many-body systems exhibit both collective, regular, motion and chaotic excitations. These modes couple and many interesting phenomena can be discerned through the understating of the coexistence of both excitation modes. One measure of the coupling is the spreading width which was introduced to simplify the description of symmetry breaking, the damping of giant resonances in nuclei, and plasmon resonances in clusters. The theme of this workshop is to discuss the damping. Further, the collective excitation in BEC, another mesoscopic system, will also be discussed. Chaos and all its ramification in the quantal world will also be discussed. Chaotic enhancement of matrix elements, tunneling, and chaotic scattering will also be addressed.

limited. The registration fee for the conference is 100 Euro. Costs for the
accommodation and meals will be covered by the Max Planck
Institute.
In exceptional cases, funding is available to partially cover travel
expenses.
