Relationship between Bred vectors, singular vectors, ensemble Kalman filter and 4D-Var

Bred vectors are closely related to the EnKF perturbations, and conversely singular vectors are related to 4D-Var initial and final analysis errors within an assimilation window. We will explore these properties and their implications for data assimilation.
