Analysis of nonhyperbolicity of the Lorenz system through periodic orbits

Tangency structures between stable and unstable manifolds of the Lorenz system by changing the parameter value are investigated. By employing a covariant Lyapunov analysis we characterize the tangency structures through the period-doubling bifurcations of a special type of periodic orbits.
