Identifying critical phenomena by analysis of experimental timeseries

Natural hazards often occur as a shock in a condition which previously is thought as normal. By analysing experimental Timeseries, with both linear and nonlinear methods, we try to identify, critical phenomena which up to an extend, could be considered as precursory to an imminent catastrophic event. Using EM geophysical signals, HRV timeseries and EEGS, we try to focus on specific details where the underlying system (fracture, Heart or Brain) is entering in a critical phase. In addition for the latter two cases, we apply a combined analysis in order to extract some significant conclusions concerning epileptic seizures.
