It was demonstrated that the method of coupled Gaussian wave packets is a full-fledged alternative to direct numerical solutions of the Gross-Pitaevskii equation of dipolar condensates. The approach with Gaussian wave packets leads to stable and unstable stationary solution. By varying the scattering length, these stable and unstable stationary states are created and destroyed in bifurcation points. To determine whether these bifurcation points are exceptional points one can examine the signature of the states by orbiting the bifurcation point with a complex scattering length. |
